In the case of IXAS, our purpose of starting up a portal is indeed, to bring the vast relevant information and service resources available to many users in an effective easy-to-access manner.

The IXAS Portal is a new resource of scientific knowledge in the field of x-ray absorption and related phenomena. The current version of the IXAS Portal was proposed by the IXAS chair and designed and maintained by Portal Team maintained by the IXAS Chair. Here only the essential features are described.

The IXAS Portal provides latest information as a form of electronic magazine "XAS Research Review". The articles on cutting-edge research topics contributed by the outstanding researchers will provide updated information, covering a wide range of topics from physics to biology, from materials science to environmental issues etc. Research articles are expected to be contributed by scientists within and outside of the community on monthly basis. The editorial board is to be formed by some of the executive committee members. Submission of articles and news is described in the magazine webpage. The IXAS Portal also provides updated information on events and technological news over the world, responding your needs. The IXAS Portal provides information in an interactive way. Members are allowed to log in for subscribing this electronic journal and give a feedback to editors and authors.
